Hubert is an attorney and Associate Director of Labor and Employee Relations in the Human Resources Department of the University of Illinois at Chicago. Previously, he was principal of the law firm of Brothers & Thompson, P.C. He is a long time resident of the South Shore neighborhood, where he and his wife raised their three children. In 1994, Hubert co-founded a mentoring group serving grade school and high school boys on the city's West Side, where he continues to serve as a tutor and mentor. He is a former board member of Planned Parenthood of Chicago and is a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, where he serves as a volunteer attorney in Trinity’s legal clinic.
